OOTD | The Blues

Hello there, how's your week going so far? I know it's just Tuesday but let's be optimistic and focus on the light at the end of the tunnel..Friday! :p I decided to do an outfit of the day cause I thought, why not. I mean you don't need a reason to share your outfit with the rest of the world, doh ;) I just came back from the university and decided to take some picturs because I love what I wore today.

It's a simple outfit but oh-so-comfortable. I always prefer comfort over stlye. I let my skin breathe under the oversized clothes.

P.S Excuse the wrinkled shirt & messy hair, I just got back home. And if you're a student, I know you feel me sister.

Now the outfit, I got the top from Maria B. It's a plain loose fitting blue colored frok. One thing you don't know about me is that more than 50% of my outfits are in the same blue color. I  don't know, it's kind of an obsession *guilty*
The fabric of the frok is so soft, it feels light on the skin, as if you're not even wearing anything (yeah, I need more clothes like this for sure). It has a grey peter pan collar with studs on it ..studs! Studs on blue color *screams a little on the inside*
I like the lenght as it's not too short and not too long. I can easily pair it with leggings or a cigar trouser.
I decided to pair it with red leggings because I was kinda in love with the combination that Deepika Padukon wore in the song 'Chor bazari'. Ergo, I tried to recreate my own version of that outfit.
Shoes are from City Center, which I bought 2 years ago, it was from a China wali shop but they turned out to be pretty comfortable.
The cross body envelop cluth is from Breakout. And the bracelet I'm wearing is from Jon Richards.

Come on, no OOTD is complete without a 70s-style-filmy picture!(don't judge me :p)

Essence Gel Tint - 03 Flashy Apricot | Review & Swatchs

Hello there, today I'm going to review the Essence Gel Tint in shade Flashy Apricot. Another orange lip product! *surprise surprise* heh. What I like about gel tints is that they are somewhere between lipstick, lipgloss & lipbalms, and they feel light on the lips. I have used this Essence gel tint before in the shade 02-Deep Red and have absolutely loved it. I've been using that one for almost a year now. Therefore, I decided to try it in another shade. And this time I went for an orange-eee, the name says it all.

About the Product:
Jelly lips! the innovative water-based, jelly formula lightly tints your lips for hours. the specially shaped applicator with a double-ended color reservoir ensures an easy and accurate application. intensive, long-lasting colors attract attention to your lips!

The Product claims:
  • Gel Tint for long lasting and color intensive lips
  • For an intensifying color effect, apply the gel tint several times
  • Waterbased gel texture for a cooling effect and a comfortable feeling on the lips
  • Stains the lips

Ingredients:
AQUA (WATER), GLYCERIN, CARBOMER, PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE, SACCHARIN, PHENOXYETHANOL, METHYLPARABEN, ETHYLPARABEN, AROMA (FLAVOR), CI 15985 (YELLOW 6), CI 16035 (RED 40), CI 17200 (RED 33).

Packaging:
It comes in a thin cardboard box and inside is a small transparent tube. I like the fact that you can see the color through the packaging, it looks cute this way. It is easy to carry due to its small size (5ml). You can put it in your smallest-possible-clutch ever and it would hardly take up any space. The sponge applicator does not come in handy as you have to use your fingers to spread the color evenly either on your cheeks or on the lips. If you use the applicator you may not get precise application.

Texture:
When I first bought this tint, I expected the texture to be quite thick but to my surprise it's the opposite. It's not watery thin, but is in between liquidy thin and a thick gel. I like this texture as it makes it easy to apply it.

Color:
This flashy apricot is a very pretty orange that can be used for a natural look during the day time. The color is not as bright as it appears in the packging. Also it's quite pigmented and more layers of tint gets you more intense color.

Smell & Taste:
These tints have a sweet fruity scent which disappears after few moments of application but you can taste it on the lips. Personally, I don't mind this scent but it might bother people who are not a big fan a sweet scents.

Lasting Power:
I mentioned that I've used this tint in shade 02 (still using it by the way). That shade lasts up to 8+ hours on my face but this flashy apricot shade disappears within 2-3 hours. I don't really get it, I mean the formula must be same only the shade is different but for some reason this shade does not have an impressive lasting power.

How to apply:
Dot it on your cheeks and then blend it using your fingers. The quicker you do the better or you might get uneven distribution.

Summary:
All in all it is such a pretty orange shade which comes in a small transparent tube. It lasts for about 2-3 hours on the cheeks but disappears more rapidly on the lips. It is not moisturizing on the lips and dries them out a little.

The Good:
Color is buildable
Bargain cheap
Smells nice
Pigmented
Travel friendly packaging

The Bad:
Lasting power
Even application is tricky
Dries out the lips a little

Rating:
3.5/5

Would I repurchase it & Price:
Not sure about this shade but I'll definitely repurchase this product in the shade 02-Deep Red again, which in case I failed to mention, is my true love *Yop*
I got it for 350rs ($4) . I'd say it's worth the price and you should give it a try at least once.
Thanks for reading :)
What's your on-the-go product these days

Essence - 01 Coral Calling Review & Swatchs

Hello out there, hope you're having a wonderful day. Today I'm going to review the much-loved Essence lipstick in shade Coral Calling. If you read my last haul post you'd know that I ordered this lipstick online along with some other goodies. I've worn it quite often since the last month and I decided to share my views about it. These lipstciks by essence comes in 13 gorgeous Shades. I really wanted to get all of them but, eh.`To the review now:

Product Detail:
longlasting love… you simply have to fall in love with the longlasting lipsticks by essence. the lipsticks provide your lips with intensive color for several hours without drying them out. you’re sure to find whatever you’re looking for – from bright pink to intensive red and chilled-out berry to subtle nude shades. the essence logo on the texture and the matt, black packaging with a ring of color to match the actual color of the lipstick are true eye-catchers!

Ingredients:
RICINUS COMMUNIS (CASTOR) SEED OIL, ethylhexyl palmitate, polybutene, octyldodecanol, CANDELILLA (EUPHORBIA CERIFERA) WAX, polyethylene, mica, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRA-DI-T-BUTYL HYDROXYHYDROCINNAMATE, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE), May contain: CI 15850 (RED 6/RED 7 LAKE), CI 19140 (YELLOW 5 LAKE), CI 42090 (BLUE 1 LAKE), CI 45410 (RED 28 LAKE), CI 77491, CI 77492 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE).

Packaing:
It comes in a matt black tube which looks so sleek. This lipstick reminds me of the Rimmel Kate Moss Collection, except that it has a colored circle in the middle which is in the color of the lipstcik inside. Plus I like the cute Little 'e' that is engraved on the top. (I just noticed the 'e' looks like a laughing pacman..or maybe I'm just tired)
The casing is plastic but does not look cheap and is quite sturdy. I dropped it once and it didn't break. Good job Essence.

Color:
It is a light coral color which looks absolutely amazing and is easily wearable during the day time. It gives medium coverage, also it can be used as a tint. In one swipe you can get a subtle hint of color and can build the color up by swiping it 2-3 times. The color is not completely matt but does not look crazy in the daylight. It just appears a little shiney when you go out in the sun.

Application:
Big fan of how smooth the application is. It feels nice on the lips, does not dry them out or make them sticky.

Lasting Power:
These lipsticks are called 'long lasting' but here, I disagree. The only negative thing that I could point out about this lipstick is the not-so-impressive lasting power. It lasted on my lips for 3 hours max witout eating or drinklng. I had to re-apply it to get the color back after almost 2hrs 45 mins.

Summary:
All in all I would say it is a perfect color to have this summer. The application is really smooth and the creamy formula does not dry your lips.

The Good:
Texture
Affordable
Easy application
Variety of Shades
Sturdy packaging

The Bad:
Lasting power

Rating: 4\5

Would I repurchase it & Price:
Yes, I would repurchase this lipstick in the very same shade cause if you haven't guessed by know, I'm kinda obsessed with it. I got it from beautyarena for PKR 490  ($5).
